Our Story

How it all started...

Crossroads began in 1992 in the living room of its founding pastor, and soon held Sunday services at Cedar Lane Elementary in Middletown. The church was a small group of committed people seeking reach to reach a growing Middletown area. Two years later the church purchased its current piece of property on the east side of Middletown.

Jim Weaver was eventually called as the senior pastor in 1999, and Josh Guzman joined Jim soon afterward as the associate pastor. The two ministered together at Crossroads over the next 15 years, as the church grew and broadened its vision. In 2005 and again in 2011 expansions to the buildings and facilities took place to facilitate growth.

In 2016 Jim Weaver took a call to West Africa to serve as a church planter, and Josh Guzman became the senior pastor. In 2023 Josh Guzman felt the call to serve in other ways and stepped down as senior pastor, and Mike Hernandez became the senior pastor.

Today and tomorrow...

Over the years Crossroads has focused on caring for the vulnerable through orphan care ministry, as well as global outreach with the good news of Jesus Christ. Plans for a future and final expansion which would include a new sanctuary and multipurpose space is planned for the next few years.
We are excited about how God has led and is leading us to love and serve the MOT community and the world for the Gospel. Take a few moments to explore the many areas of ministry, service and community endeavors of Crossroads on this site.
